Heather Fahy

Heather Fahy is a visual artist living and working in London. With a background in jewellery and graphic design she works with photography, collage and print exploring the urban environment and the spaces of our modern cities.

Fahy is interested in the layered and shifting nature of the urban environment where different surfaces and materials collide, where glass, concrete and steel butt up against the sky, where light and shadow appear to occupy the same space and buildings are constructed and razed simultaneously. She investigates the beauty of light reflected off buildings; the pockets of calm and peace found within the torrent of dirt and noise and chaos; the patterns and textures and infinite detail to be found within this environment.

Working in series and using both found imagery and her own photographs, her work has a strong graphic quality and plays with perceptions of three-dimensional space and light.
