Janet Curley Cannon, an American born artist based in Berkshire, is an ardent observer of the incidental and transitory characteristics of the built environment. She is inspired by architectural details, patterns and reflections in city skylines, textures on aged or forgotten surfaces, and the detritus of urban spaces. She collects and manipulates the visual information which speaks of place, of past times, present circumstances, and future hopes. Her work uses photography and digital print as part of a wider mixed-media practice including sculpture and site-specific installations and commissions.
