We navigate between our inner and outer worlds. We carry the inner– our intuition, preferences, loves and hates, using them to interpret and make sense of where we go and what we see. The depicted landscape can be a reflection of a state of mind where internal truth is expressed.
Equally the space between people as well as their body language indicates the gap. Expressions of tenderness, comfort, hope, protection and evasion are visible.
In my work I explore the images I find of this polarity. Part figurative pure colour, my woodcuts play in the interface. They rest in the tension of the ever present challenge– How do we fit in the world?
