In these new works created for the Bankside, I\u2019m revisiting my interest in tools of trades. Particularly sewing machines and objects related to dressmaking. I also continue my interest in manmade environments, old doors, old locks, peeling paint and the scuffed and the worn. I draw on these objects as inspiration for mark making, colour, patina and shapes in my imagery.<\/p>\n

I prefer using these Printmaking processes etching, drypoint, collagraph and carborundum printing. These processes enable me to create highly embossed and textured images. These printmaking techniques also involve the erosion of metal and degradation of cardboard substrates, the process of creating the work mirroring the subject matter of the work.<\/p>\n

After completing a Masters\u2019 Degree in Fine Art Printmaking at Wimbledon School of Art. I co-founded Red Hot Press print workshop in Southampton Hampshire in 2004. I have exhibited my work widely in the UK and abroad. My work is held in public and private collections in Europe, Australia and Asia. I teach intaglio printmaking techniques and I\u2019m a visiting lecturer at West Dean College.<\/p>\n
