Helen\u2019s new work for LOOP2022 was made in response to the notion of a seamless flow between the natural world and our own intimate, inner landscape. Shifting her focus between vistas of human cells and the expanded landscape, Helen explores how we connect with nature, and ultimately how we connect with ourselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe often forget that WE ARE NATURE. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we\u2019ve lost our connection to ourselves.\u201c<\/em> (Andy Goldsworthy)<\/p>\n

Helen\u2019s practice explores the complex relationship between the human and more-than-human worlds. She has an interest in the importance of place over the more abstract \u2018space\u2019 and the concept of landscape beyond its geographical facts.<\/p>\n

Helen exhibits her work widely through selected exhibitions, as well as with the Printmakers Council. Her work is held in the V&A Museum\u2019s Word and Image Department, the permanent public art collection of the Scarborough Art Gallery and Museum, and features in the book \u2018Making an Impression \u2013 Printmakers Council at 50\u2019.<\/p>\n
