Julie Hoyle\u2019s work is about the complex relationships between humans and the natural world often challenging anthropocentric perspectives by juxtaposing images of humans with other animals, highlighting shared experiences and kinship like motherhood and vulnerability.<\/p>\n

An artist printmaker, Julie received a first-class degree in Fine Art at the UCA Farnham and went on to learn printmaking at the London College of Communication with Sheila Sloss before studying for her MA at Camberwell School of Art.
\nProud to be the main Founder of Ochre Print Studio and Ochre PrintAble in Guildford and Director for both for 10 years 2006 \u2013 2016 she continues working with and mentoring a number of organisations such as DAiSY (Disability Arts in Surrey) and The Swiss Church London. She is also a co-coordinator of LOOP Artists in Print.<\/p>\n

Working with a number of printmaking methods including digital, screenprint, collagraph and monoprint, Julie embraces experimental printmaking, often mixing the methods to create hybrid prints or installations.
\nBoldly illustrative and decorative, line is always present in her printing either carved into the plate, painted or drawn onto it or block or mono printed over it with textured card or paper. Reducing figures to simple lines and basic shapes to describe form she often leaves out detail while looking for rhythm and pattern.
