Alexandra Sivov\u2019s work often begins as a response to what she sees in newspapers and mass media. She is particularly drawn to the way images and stories are constructed, and more recently, she has been fascinated by how artificial intelligence generates portraits. After reading an article about AI-generated faces, she began reflecting on how machines interpret human identity\u2014and how she might explore that same concept using traditional, hands-on techniques.<\/p>\n

She deliberately turned to printmaking\u2014etching, photopolymer, and silkscreen\u2014as a contrast to the digital nature of AI. For her, there is something meaningful in using slow, tactile processes to respond to fast, data-driven systems. These traditional methods reaffirm the value of the hand, the eye, and the human intuition\u2014qualities that stand in sharp opposition to the logic of the machine.<\/p>\n
